Alexon like-for-like sales fall 10.5%

Alexon Group revealed like-for-like sales dropped 10.5% in the 14 weeks to May 23 in its annual financial report, which was published today.

Alexon said it had also strengthened its board with the appointment of consultant Adrian Moulds, who was previously finance director at Viyella, and Peter Redhead, who runs his own executive coaching company, as non-executive directors.

The group, which includes womenswear brands Ann Harvey and Eastex & Co, said the new financial year hasdstarted solidly.

The report said: “We are establishing solid foundations within Alexon which will position us for future growth. The management team is now fully restructured and retirement vacancies filled. Strategies for improving product sourcing, selection and distribution are already showing benefits.”
