Alexon recruits brand boss

Jane McNally, the incoming chief executive of Alexon Group, has made her first major hire since she took up the position last month.

McNally has appointed New Look’s head of womenswear Jane Eskriett to the role of brand director for plus-size retailer Ann Harvey and young fashion chain Bay Trading. Eskriett joined New Look just three months ago from Primark.

Eskriett will be responsible for buying, merchandising and marketing across the two chains.

McNally said: “Jane will initially focus on Ann Harvey. Her first task will be to move it towards more of a high street brand like Bay Trading. It currently has a bridge offer. Jane is very good on product, and fantastic at energising teams. We are very excited to have her on board.”

Eskriett will take up her new position at Alexon next week.

McNally, who joined Alexon from Peacocks in June, said she was relishing her new role as chief executive of the womenswear group. She said: “Alexon has seven different brands, and is very concession- focused and brand-led, which is something different for me. But with the right focus, it has huge potential. I’m really enjoying it.”

Alexon also owns womenswear retailers Alex & Co, Eastex, Dash and Kaliko.
