Amanda Wakeley to open London flagship

Womenswear label Amanda Wakeley will launch a flagship store in London this autumn where it will unveil a “completely renovated” retail concept.

The store will showcase the designer label’s ready to wear collection, plus its cashmere, beach and accessories lines, alongside its bespoke range.

The 3,000 sq ft flagship will be located at 18 Albemarle Street and will be set over three floors. The new store is the latest in a series of developments for Amanda Wakeley, which earlier this year appointed Sagra Maceira de Rosen as chief executive.

The label also secured “significant” investment from private equity firm AGC Equity Partners last year to expand its ready-to-wear line into a complete lifestyle range.

Maceira de Rosen said: “When we started to look for a boutique in Mayfair, I wanted to discover “the next Mount Street” and Albemarle Street ticked a lot of the boxes – it is a very chic street, in a great location with iconic London landmarks such as Browns Hotel and the Royal Arcade.”

She added: “For Amanda Wakeley having a home in Mayfair is important from both a business and brand image standpoint.

“The store will expand our customer base, attracting different customers than those that frequent our Fulham Road boutique and concessions in Harvey Nichols. Chic, glamorous and capturing the cosmopolitan spirit of London, the store will be a showcase for a completely renovated retail concept for Amanda Wakeley.”

Amanda Wakeley has one other store on Fulham Road in London, which will remain open.
