Amazon to launch Black Friday Sale on Monday

Amazon has extended its Black Friday Sale period to 12 days this year, up from five in 2015.

The Sale will launch on Monday 14 November and run until Black Friday on 25 November. Amazon said it made the decision in response to customer feedback.

It will offer twice the number of deals that it did last year. Members of Amazon Prime, which costs £79 a year, will get early access to the discounts.

Some of the deals will be available through Prime Now, which offers one-hour delivery in London, Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Portsmouth for £6.99

Doug Gurr, UK managing director of Amazon, said: “In response to positive customer feedback for Black Friday deals, we are introducing the Black Friday Sale – 12 days of fantastic deals on must-have gifts and products, saving our customers millions of pounds.”

Amazon sold more than 7.4 million items in the UK on Black Friday last year.
