Amazon UK offers customers ‘pay monthly’ scheme

Amazon UK is offering customers a ‘pay monthly’ scheme for purchases of over £400.

The loan agreement is through Hitachi Personal Finance, which also offers loans for retailers including John Lewis, B&Q and Sofa.com. Finance is currently only available on items that are dispatched from and sold by Amazon.

Amazon is making a play for a greater share of the fashion market and this move pits the etailer against the likes of Next and Shop Direct, which also offer finance agreements.

In August last year, Amazon opened a 46,000 sq ft photography space in Shoreditch, London, to support its growing European fashion business.
