American Apparel reportedly fires creative director

American Apparel has reportedly ousted its creative director, Iris Alonzo, just four months after being rehired.

The US young fashion chain has also hired two new executives, who will join on March 9: Thoryn Stephens in the newly created role of chief digital officer and Cynthia Erland as senior vice president of marketing.

Online news site The Drum claims Alonzo, who was first fired in June 2014 before being rehired in October, has departed as part of a shake-up of the company’s executive team by chief executive Paula Schneider.

In his role Stephens will be responsible for ecommerce and other digital strategies, while Erland will oversee communications.
