Peter McGuigan, the chief executive of Americana, owner of young fashion brand Bench, has reportedly left the company.
The Manchester Evening News said it has learnt that group finance director Paul Masters has replaced McGuigan on an interim basis. Masters has been at Americana since he joined from Umbro in 2008.
McGuigan joined Americana in 2007 after eight years at Umbro. During his tenure at Americana he axed its women’s young fashion brand Hooch in 2009 after poor sales.
The Manchester-based business was bought by private equity company HgCapital for £190m in 2007.
Americana declined to comment.
