Andy Rubin promoted to chairman of Pentland Brands

Pentland Brands chief executive Andy Rubin has been appointed chairman from January 1, as Andy Long, current chief operating officer is promoted to chief executive.

Long joined the company as chief financial officer of Speedo in 2005.  He became co-president of Speedo in 2006, before becoming chief finance officer of Pentland Brands in 2009 and chief operating officer in 2012. He will retain the responsibilities of the chief operating officer role.

Stephen Rubin, chairman of the Pentland Group, said: “Both Andys are leading a successful brand building organisation which will produce record sales and profits in 2014 and has won various awards recognising the team’s achievements. We wish Andy Rubin and Andy Long continued success in their new roles and look forward to many more years of global brand building.”
