Anthony Miles to diversify footwear offer

Men’s footwear brand Anthony Miles will diversify its offer from autumn 14 after appointing former Kurt Geiger men’s product manager Chris Margetts as creative manager.

Margetts told Drapers the British label needed more variety, moving away from the “saturated” canvas slip-on and trainer market and back to its “core DNA”.

Although the autumn 14 range is smaller then the spring 14 line – 55 options and 17 styles compared with 60 options and 19 styles – Margetts said there was more choice, highlighting the addition of hiking boots, lace-up ankle boots and tasselled slippers.

He said: “I want to make sure we create key pieces each season to excite the customer.”

Margetts, who was at Kurt Geiger for five years, joined on January 1 and is responsible for design and marketing.

The brand’s stockists include Selfridges, Topman and Asos.
