US womenswear chain Anthropologie has signed two stores in London, marking its first openings in Europe.
The two stores are on London’s Regent Street and the Antiquarius building on the King’s Road.
The Regent Street site is 11,000sq ft and will sell Anthropologie’s women’s fashion, accessories, home decor and decorative antiques over three floors. It will open in late 2009.
The King’s Road store is 8,000sq ft and will open in early 2010.
Anthropologie Europe managing director James Bidwell said: “We are delighted to have secured two fantastic locations. The King’s Road location will become the spiritual home from home for Anthropologie, and the Redent Street site will be part of one of the most dynamic and vital shopping districts in Europe. We are working hard to build small, talented buying, store and visual teams to ensure we create an amazing experience for our customers when we open our first store on Regent Street later this year.”
Anthropologie is a sister chain of Urban Outfitters. It has 120 stores in the US.
