Apac Sale site will enter UK in a flash

Flash Sale retailer Apac Sale is set to launch in the UK and US this spring.

The business, which operates in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia, will launch in the UK and in the US within the next two months.

Since it was set up two months ago, the UK buying team, which has been sourcing British brands, has grown to 20 staff, with two further positions- women’s fashion buyer and a kidswear category manager- being recruited.

The buying office is relocating from Corby in Northamptonshire to Fulham in London next month, although a 60,000 sq ft distribution centre will remain in Corby.

Apac Sale works with 3,000 brands covering a broad range including Versace, Ugg Australia and Tesco F&F, with about 350 UK labels.

Launched eight years ago by Brit Jamie Jackson, the business has 10 million customers and is set to turn over in excess of £300m this year.

UK general manager Matt Bennison said it could be compared to brand Alley, but Apac’s global turnover is roughly 10-times bigger.
