Aquascutum has signed a deal with Canadian licensee The Jaytex Group to distribute the Aquascutum 1851 London collection across Canada and the US.
The premium men’s and women’s wear brand is currently stocked in Barney’s in the US and Harry Rosen in Canada.
Through the licensing agreement, Jaytex will distribute the brand through both wholesale and retail channels and is planning to open standalone stores in Canada in the next two to three years.
Aquascutum said the US is its third biggest market after the UK and Japan in terms of web traffic and contributes the highest revenue outside of the UK.
“This partnership marks the start of an exciting market for the brand,” said chief operating officer Mark Taylor. “We’re already in talks with major luxury retailers in the US.”
In March 2013, the company launched a three-year strategy to build its presence in the UK and international markets. Last year Aquascutum opened two new London stores and it is seeking other store locations in 2015. The number and locations have not yet been disclosed.
The Jaytex Group works with brands including Ben Sherman and Kenneth Cole.
