Arcadia property director exits

Arcadia Group property director Chris Harris is set to leave the retailer to join John Lewis in the same role.

Harris has worked for Arcadia for a decade.

Arcadia owner Sir Philip Green said: “Chris has done a great 10 years with us and I’m very happy that he’s managed to secure such a great job.”

He will join John Lewis on 1 March 2018, reporting to group finance director Patrick Lewis.

Harris is the latest in a string of senior figures to leave Arcadia Group this year.

Mary Homer, the longstanding managing director of Topshop, left to join The White Company as CEO, replacing Will Kernan.

Topshop/Topman retail director Craig McGregor, quit his post earlier this year to take up the same role at Specsavers – as exclusively reported by Drapers.

Topshop/Topman global commercial director Matt Brewster also left the company.

Other recent departures from the traditionally stable Arcadia Group include Wesley Taylor and Yasmin Yusuf, who left their roles as managing director of Burton and creative director of Miss Selfridge respectively.

Arcadia Group appointed Paul Price, chief merchandising officer at Burberry, to lead Topshop/Topman in July.
