Arcadia’s online depot workers to strike again

Workers at Arcadia’s online depot in Shirley, Solihull, have voted to strike on 8 and 12 December in a row over pay.

GMB union members at Spectrum for Arcadia, a division of the DHL Logistics Supply Chain, have voted to strike in support of a pay claim for the Real Living Wage, which is currently set at £8.45 by the Living Wage Foundation.

Most workers at the depot are paid the national minimum wage of £7.20.

The workers previously walked out on Cyber Monday, 28 November, over the same issue. The union said it has not heard from Arcadia since.

Dominic Hinks, GMB organiser, said: “The way we have been treated by Arcadia is utterly shabby. On the ground, the company’s reps have been very good – but we are getting nothing from head office. We have even offered up counter proposals – but all we get in return is silence. Now we have no choice but to take further action.”
