Armani axes Collezioni and Jeans lines

Armani will consolidate its Armani Collezioni and Armani Jeans lines under the Emporio Armani brand from spring 18.

The Giorgio Armani Group will only have the Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani and A/X Armani Exchange labels from the spring 18 season onwards, to minimise confusion.

A spokesman for Armani confirmed that EA7 will remain.

In a separate development, Armani Exchange has closed six of its eight UK stores including its flagship on Regent Street. The stores at Bluewater in Kent, Intu Trafford Centre in Manchester, Met Quarter in Liverpool, Trinity shopping centre in Leeds, the Friary in Guildford have all closed, while the Westfield London and York Designer Outlet stores continue to trade.

Giorgio Armani bought back the licence from Club 21 at the end of last year. The leases, which are understood to have been held by Singapore fashion licensee Club 21, have been surrendered back to the landlords to be re-let.
