Artful Dodger range to grow

British streetwear label Artful Dodger is to extend its offer beyond jerseys to a complete collection, following its acquisition by a joint venture headed by hip-hop producer Jay-Z.
Creative director Scott Langton will continue to design the collection. He said the first step would be to develop a range of footwear and outerwear, with future plans to produce a complete lifestyle offer.

An investment company fronted by Jay-Z has acquired the licence for Artful Dodger, which is owned by Signature Apparel Group. It also bought the licences for Signature Apparel’s other brands.

“As a company Signature has both the production infrastructure and financial capacity to make Artful Dodger the brand I always envisioned it to be,” Langton said.

Artful Dodger’s current range includes zip-through track-tops, graphic-print hoodies, branded T-shirts and denim. It is stocked by 40 accounts, including Harvey Nichols.
