Asda promotes George head Nick Jones

Asda has promoted Nick Jones, who heads up the supermarket’s George clothing range, to its executive board.

Jones has been credited with improving George’s offer and competing effectively with both Tesco’s F&F and Sainsbury’s Tu.

Asda launched a new “mini-me” range of dresses late last year so mums and daughters could wear matching outfits.

The supermarket said the appointment would allow its chief merchandising officer, Jesús Lorente, to concentrate on its food business.
