Ashley culls House of Fraser senior management team

Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct has sacked the entire senior management team at House of Fraser weeks after it bought the troubled department store.

In an announcement to the stock market, Sports Direct confirmed it has ‘dismissed the former directors and senior management of House of Fraser.’

The statement added that the move follows calls for an investigation into the collapse.

Sports Direct did not reveal which senior management were affected but chief executive Alex Williamson is thought to be among those who have left the business.

Ashley has previously called for House of Fraser’s former directors to face an Insolvency Service inquiry, claiming they “misled” suppliers and warehouse operators.

Sports Direct bought House of Fraser out of administration for £90m in August.

  • Ashley in another obvious move and this isn't being subjective. The facts were the HOF's management team were never fit for purpose.
