Sportswear brand Asics has appointed Gary Raucher as executive vice-president of its new category-led organisational structure in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The new category aims to drive growth in running, core performance sports and sports style in EMEA.
It comes after the brand reported a drop in sales for EMEA in the first nine months of 2018. Consolidated net sales for the period across the region dropped by 4% compared with the same period in 2017.
Raucher will lead marketing, merchandising and product across the region. He was previously the global head of marketing at Dutch navigation company TomTom and the global head of brand and communications at electrical company Philips.
