Exclusive: Asics to open new flagship on Regent Street

Japanese sports and footwear brand Asics is to open a new flagship store on Regent Street in London later this year, Drapers can exclusively reveal.

The 9,040 sq ft two-storey flagship will bring together the brand’s performance, lifestyle (Asics Tiger and Onitsuka Tiger) and Häglofs collections under one roof for the first time.

It is understood Asics will move into the former French Connection unit at 249-251 Regent Street. French Connection shuttered the loss-making store at the end of March 2016.

A spokesman for Asics confirmed the store would be on Regent Street, but could not give an exact location.

“The opening date is scheduled for Q3 before the start of the Asics-sponsored IAAF World Athletics Championships,” he explained.
