Asos appoints former Lloyds finance director Helen Ashton

Asos has appointed Helen Ashton, chief executive at debt management business Capquest and former finance director at Lloyds Banking Group, as chief financial officer from September 1.

She will succeed Nick Beighton, who has become group chief operating officer.

Ashton worked at Llyods from January 2010 to May 2012, when she left to join Capquest. She was previously managing director of Barclaycard International from 2005 to 2009 and head of retail finance at Asda from 2003 to 2005.

Group chief executive Nick Robertson said: “Helen brings an unusual combination of deep financial experience, combined with her track record in consumer facing and retail businesses. She has also been involved in significant change management situations and has demonstrated great leadership capability.”

Ashton added: “My time in financial services has been a great experience, but the role at Asos fits perfectly with what I want to do now, enabling me to build on my passion for consumer facing businesses and retail specifically.”
