Nick Robertson, Asos.com co-founder and chief executive, has offloaded £20m worth of shares following a “big tax bill”.
Robertson, who set the business up in 2000, sold 744,600 shares at a price of £27.16. He still retains an 8.4% stake in Asos, worth £180m, according to The Times.
The move comes after a challenging year for the retailer in which profit warnings depressed the company’s stock price.
