Asos director steps down

Asos non-executive director Karen Jones is stepping down from her position after six years at the business.

Jones joined the etailer in September 2009 and will leave at the end of the firm’s annual general meeting today (December 3).

Brian McBride, Asos chairman, said: “Karen has served as a non-executive director and remuneration committee chair at Asos for over six years. During that period, a time of substantial development for the company, she has provided wise counsel and challenge, playing a considerable part in making Asos what it is today. On behalf of the board, I would like to thank her for the entrepreneurial flair and insights she brought to the board table.”

Jones was previously chairman of pub group Food & Fuel, and co-founded Café Rouge and the Pelican Group. She was also chief executive of Spirit Group and was formerly on the board of HBOS and Emap.
