Asos restructures international business

Asos.com is restructuring its international division, but said the departure of a number of country managers over the past few months is unrelated.

Gaële Wuilmet, head of operations in France, and Matt Hiscock, senior vice president of the US division, have left the business. Wuilmet has joined French multimedia services firm B’Dom as director general, and Hiscock has been appointed global marketing director at retailer Boden.

Drapers also understands Moritz Hau, country manager of Germany, could be about to leave.

Last month, Asos announced that Australia country manager Ching-Har Wong was preparing to leave after just five months in the role.

Asos declined to comment on the moves. However, a spokeswoman revealed the business is reviewing its international structure.

Some responsibilities that were previously localised will be brought back to the London head office to “remove duplication of effort, gain efficiencies and build a subject matter expertise within a central team”. She could not say which roles would be centralised.

The structure is currently under review, with more detail expected soon.
