Aspecto closes website but stores continue to trade

Aspecto has closed its website but its retail stores continue to trade as normal.

The site is redirecting to Tessuti’s website, with a discount offer. It is not clear if this is a temporary arrangement.

The premium menswear mini-chain Aspecto was acquired by Tessuti buying director Michael Ashcroft and his brother-in-law, Tessuti founder and minority shareholder David Light, in August last year, to add to their growing fashion retail interests in the Northwest.

The Aspecto deal followed the death of Aspecto founder and managing director Mel Pilkington on May 21 after a long fight with cancer.

Light told Drapers at the time: “We intend to develop Aspecto, which has a lot of potential but has been underfinanced for some time.”

Drapers has contacted Light and Aspecto for comment.
