Asprey lures back former CEO

Asprey, the British luxury brand, is understood to be shedding its ready-to-wear and footwear categories to focus on fine jewellery and leather goods, as it appoints a new chief executive.

According to reports, Asprey chairman John Rigas has lured back former Asprey & Garrard chief executive Robert Procop as president and chief executive of Asprey to spearhead the new direction.

Procop was chief executive of Asprey and Garrard until 2000 when it was owned by Prince Jefri of Brunei.

After the Asprey brand was spun off and acquired by Plainfield Asset Management and Sciens Capital, Procop became chief executive of Garrard until earlier this year.
