August date for Africa Fashion Week London

African and African-inspired designers will take to the catwalk at a dedicated fashion week in London this August.

Africa Fashion Week London will take place at Olympia West Hall on Friday and Saturday the 8th and 9th of August. Now in its fourth year, the womenswear and menswear show is organised by London-based retail entrepreneur Ronke Ademiluyi, who also runs a five-store fashion business, Rukkies Boutiques, in Nigeria.

Some 10,000 visitors attended last year’s event, which last year took place at the Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch.

Four daily catwalk shows will be held, involving 60 designers including British-born Nigerian couture designer Ade Bakare and Senegalese womenswear label Adama Paris. There will be also be an exhibition space, with 50 businesses set to take stands.
