Avenue 32 confirms closure

Womenswear etailer Avenue 32 has closed, weeks after Drapers exclusively revealed the business was preparing to shutter.

The company’s website states: “After six wonderful years, we have decided to focus on new projects and so, sadly, is now closed. Thank you for being such loyal customers.”

It adds that orders placed before 11 August will be processed as normal and the returns period remains at 15 days.

On 1 August Drapers revealed the business had cancelled orders for autumn 17 and was not placing orders for spring 18.

At the time Avenue 32 said was in talks with a potential buyer but declined to comment further.

In June Avenue 32 announced it was putting itself up for sale following a strategic review of the business earlier this year. The company said an investor would “improve its long-term positioning”, and during the ongoing sale process “certain operations” were being “scaled back and put on hold”.
