Averyl Oates to leave Galeries Lafayette

Former Harvey Nichols group fashion buying director Averyl Oates is to leave her role as buying director in charge of fashion at Galeries Lafayette to return to London.

Oates joined the French department store in September 2013, following a seven-year stint at Harvey Nichols. She will reportedly remain at the company until the end of March, giving it time to find a successor, and she will continue to supervise the purchases in progress for the autumn 15 season.

Oates was previously general merchandise director for womenswear at Harrods for three years. Before that, she was vice president general merchandise manager at Donna Karan for three years.
