Baby Phat to hit UK for spring 10

US denim brand Baby Phat is launching into the UK for spring 10.

Its 165-piece womenswear range consists of denim separates, leather, outerwear and dresses. The collection, which also includes handbags, footwear, lingerie and jewellery, will be stocked by 40 indies across the UK. The brand hopes its plus-size collection will follow soon after.

The brand, for which US model Kimora Lee Simmons is creative director, has a slim-fitting look with contemporary, hip-hop influences. The collection features bold prints, gold embellishment and ruffles.

Baby Phat will create four collections each year. The first spring drops will be in January and February, followed by the summer season from April. Wholesale prices range from £10 to £44.

Baby Phat was launched in 1998 under Simmons, who also has collaborations with communications firm Motorola and toy firm Mattel. The brand has about 2,000 US stockists.
