Bad weather hits M&S sales

Marks & Spencer is expected to report a 4% drop in like-for-like clothing sales later this week, as wet weather hits trading.

Chief executive Steve Rowe, who took over running the firm in April, had previously said getting clothing sales back on track at the retailer was his “number one priority”.

Most analysts are expecting clothing sales to drop by 4% for the past four months when the retailer announces its latest results on Thursday but broker Peel Hunt is predicting a 6% drop, according to The Telegraph.
