Ballantyne appoints creative director from Prada

Luxury knitwear brand Ballantyne has appointed Dawidh di Firmo as creative director.

Dawidh di Firmo previously worked as senior designer for women's ready-to-wear at Prada. He has also worked at Bottega Veneta and Marni.

His debut collection for Ballantyne will be for spring 09 and will launch at the Ballantyne showroom in Corso Italian on June 23 during Milan Men's Fashion Week. Di Firmo has developed Ballantyne's sub-range Heritage Edition which will launch in Florence at the Pitti Uomo menswear trade show tomorrow. It is based around the brand's best-selling cardigan styles, revisiting archive colours and fits.

The Ballantyne main collection will also be extended with more exclusive fabrics and a larger accessories range.
