Band of Outsiders relaunches with new creative team

Band of Outsiders is to reopen as a menswear label with a newly appointed team for autumn 17.

The brand, which was founded by Scott Sternberg in LA in 2003, was bought in 2015 by venture capital firm CLCC in 2015, at which point Sternberg left the business.

The new team includes Savile Row-trained designer Angelo Van Mol and brand director Daniel Hettman, who has worked with Macy’s and on show production for Vetements, in collaboration with Antony Verbaeys, managing director of CLCC.

A stylist will be appointed shortly, and creative collaborations with artists and designers to return to the brand as a “band of outsiders” are to be announced.

The relaunch will see the brand return to its west coast, “preppy with a twist” DNA, with a strong focus on film and LA.

The autumn 17 collection will be presented privately in Paris and New York in early 2017. Retail prices will range from $85 (£68) for a T-shirt up to $1,500 (£1,204) for premium pieces.
