Former Asos head buyer Debbi Ball joins Bank

Asos’ former head buyer Debbi Ball has joined young fashion chain Bank to oversee its womenswear offering.

Ball has joined the JD-owned retailer as head of women’s and will be responsible both design and buying across the whole of womenswear.

Ball has an impressive CV, having previously worked as a buyer at Topshop/Topman for almost eight years until June 2001.

She then became a senior buyer at off-price chain TJX before joining Asos as head of buying in 2006. Ball spent almost five years at the etailer, during which time she headed up non-apparel and Asos Outlet.

Since leaving Asos in 2010 Ball has worked at Shop Direct Group as head of buying and most recently was director of DJB Consultancy, where she carried out work for Jane Norman.

In her new role Ball will report directly to Bank managing director Peter Alecock.

He said: “We are delighted to appoint someone of Debbi’s calibre and look forward to her contribution in taking our women’s offer forward.”
