Barclay brothers mull selling a stake in Shop Direct

The Barclay Brothers, who own 25% of Shop Direct, are understood to be considering selling a stake in the ecommerce firm.

Twins Sir David and Sir Frederick Barclay, who own The Daily Telegraph and hotels including The Ritz in London, are looking at selling a quarter of their share in the business, according to Sky News.

The deal could value Shop Direct, which owns and Littlewoods, at £2bn.

Profits at Shop Direct rose 78% to £71.7m in the year to June 2015.
