London-based designer Beatrix Ong will produce a range of luxury SpongeBob SquarePants accessories, homeware and clothing for spring 15.
Ong has designed a range of shirts, caps, dresses, swimwear and other items inspired by the popular cartoon character, as part of a five-year deal with Nickelodeon-Viacom Consumer Products.
The collection will be available across Europe, Asia and North America - more details on the retail partners for the line will be released at a later date.
A separate core collection will also be developed, which will include classic pieces that will run throughout the year. This collection will be launched at luxury retailers across the globe from spring summer 15.
The prices across the two collections are expected to range up to £300.
Ong said the collection would “imbue some of SpongeBob’s fun sensibility into high fashion products”.
Nickelodeon-Viacom Consumer Products has also collaborated with children’s clothing brand Monnalisa to create a SpongeBob range for infants and girls.
SpongeBob SquarePants made an appearance on the catwalk earlier this year, when the character featured in Jeremy Scott’s first collection for Moschino.
