Beckham to score in underwear

An underwear brand by David Beckham could be a best-seller this Christmas.

The footballer’s management team is understood to have approached department stores such as John Lewis, Selfridges and House of Fraser about stocking the collection, due to launch later this year.

The as-yet-unnamed brand is expected to sit at the premium end of the market and Beckham will star in the launch campaign.

The collection comes under the management of Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment Group.

After modelling in Emporio Armani’s 2008 underwear ads, Beckham helped the Italian brand’s underwear sales rocket 94%.
