Belstaff appoints head of womenswear design

British luxury brand Belstaff has appointed Delphine Ninous as head of womenswear design.

Ninous, who will start the role on October 27, joins from Paris designer label Paul & Joe, where she was director of womenswear design from June 2013.

She has previously held roles at Christian Lacroix, Isabel Marant, Comptoir des Cotonniers and in New York at Diane von Furstenberg.

As vice president of women’s design for Belstaff, reporting to chief executive Gavin Haig, Ninous will oversee the artistic direction of all womenswear collections and the creative development of this side of the brand.

Her immediate priority will be to work on the autumn 15 collection, which will be presented during London Fashion Week next February.

Haig said: “Delphine is an experienced design leader, with both a strong artistic vision and a solid commercial track record in womenswear. She has experiences across a wide variety of design houses and also businesses of significant international scale, reaching from west to east.

“This unique mix of experience and vision will support Belstaff in its growth ambitions for the women’s side of the business.”
