Bench ramps up management team with new product role

Young fashion brand Bench has appointed Sebastian Streck to the new role of chief product officer, effective from March 1.

In the newly-created role, Streck will report to Bruno Sälzer, who became chairman and chief executive of Bench on December 1, 2014.

Streck is currently global business manager at Esprit’s young fashion label EDC Men, a position he has held since 2007. He has worked at Esprit for the past 11 years, with responsibility for global collection development and presentation, management of the design division and product management.

Bench appointed Natalie Suessmann to the newly-created role of chief marketing officer on October 1 and Sebastian Prallet to the new role of chief wholesale officer on November 1.

In February last year, Bench parent company Americana was bought by German private equity firm Emeram Capital Partners, which has since commenced a strategic turnaround of the business to regain popularity among younger shoppers in the UK market.

Daniel Mayer has been appointed to the role of vice president, head of EDC Men, having spent more than eight years with Esprit in product management and sales roles.
