Benetton CEO quits

The chief executive of Benetton Marco Airoldi has quit after three years in the role.

Airoldi will leave the business on 16 May.

Benetton chairman Francesco Gori will now be responsible for staff while CEO of Diesel USA Tommaso Bruso has joined the business as chief operating officer.

The board of directors at Benetton said Airoldi contributed to the “definition and launch of the company refocus” which targeted a selection of markets, stores and the Benetton Group brands.

The firm said Bruso, who previously worked at Benetton in Italy then the US as a retail operations manager from 1999 to 2002, will bring experience of the international fashion industry.

Bruso was CEO of Furla in the US and South America from 2008 until 2013 at which point he joined Diesel as CEO US.
