Beyoncé and Topshop to launch streetwear brand

Beyoncé has teamed up with Topshop to launch a new streetwear brand called Parkwood Topshop Athletic.

The brand will be available in autumn 15 and will comprise clothing, footwear and accessories for dance, fitness and sports.

The 50:50 joint venture will stand separate to Topshop and Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment company, but will be distributed in Topshop stores and on Topshop.com.

The Arcadia-owned retailer also said that it will explore many existing and new partnerships for distribution.

Arcadia owner Sir Philip Green said: “We have been looking at this category as fashion inspired fitness develops, and know that this is right in our customers’ heartland.

“We have much to achieve in just under a year, but we are all up for the challenge, and look forward to delivering athletic street-wear in an inventive and exciting way.”

“I could not think of a better partner as I continue to grow the Parkwood business,” said Beyoncé. “I have always loved Topshop for their fashion credentials and forward thinking. Working with their development team to create and produce a technical and fashion led collection is exciting and I’m looking forward to participating in all haspects of this partnership.”
