BFC announces Stephanie Phair as new chair

The Britsih Fashion Council has appointed Farfetch’s Stephanie Phair as its new chair.

Phair, who has been chief strategy officer at Farfetch since 2016, will join the BFC board on 5 July. The initial tenure is for three years, with the option to renew.

She will focus on governance, support the CEO in delivering the organisation’s strategy and develop relationships with people in the industry.

Natalie Massenet stepped down as chair in December 2017, following a five-year term.

Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council said: “[Phair’s] appointment was driven by her reputation as a strategic thinker, a broad view of the sector, and her propensity to challenge the norms to create new opportunities for growth.”
