BFC plans events for 2012 Olympics

The British Fashion Council (BFC) is to hold two fashion events in addition to London Fashion Week during 2012 to tie in with the London Olympics.

Details will be announced by London Mayor Boris Johnson and BFC chairman Harold Tillman when they open London Fashion Week later this month.

BFC chief executive Caroline Rush said: “We will have two focused events over the course of the Olympic festival period, one with a consumer focus and the other championing our creativity.”

The events will begin in February to coincide with the autumn 12 LFW shows, but the main focus will be during the Olympics and Paralympics from July 21 to September 9.
