The British Fashion Council will host a pre-collections event from June 15-17 in London to support UK men’s and womenswear designers.
From June 15-16, it will present a new showroom at The Hoxton hotel in Holborn called the Hoxton Collective, featuring ready-to-wear collections from designers including Alexander Lewis, Huishan Zhang, Marques’Almeida, Phoebe English and Zoë Jordan.
It will be followed by a number of designers including Amanda Wakeley, Jonathan Saunders and Peter Pilotto hosting showrooms, presentations and salon shows from June 16-17.
The BFC said it is aiming to make this a focal period for pre-collections to make it easier for buyers to do business in the capital, and will produce a map that details all of the designers showing their ranges during the period.
BFC chief executive Caroline Rush said: “The designer fashion sector has responded to the demand for collections that fall outside the traditional spring/summer and autumn/winter period with collections that in some cases now account for up to 70% of sales.
“It’s important that we celebrate the designers that are selling pre collections in London and make it a date in the diary for press and buyers from all over the world.”
