The British Fashion Council will launch a shop on eBay during London Fashion Week, selling limited edition items from the recipients of a new initiative for up and coming designers, called BFC Contemporary.
The BFC Contemporary programme offers new designers advice on brand concepts, production, budgets, scalability, online and offline growth and consumer experience.
Recipients of the award this year - Alexis Barrell, Georgia Hardinge, Paper London, Prism, and Zoë Jordan - will each create a limited edition item to be sold on the first BFC Contemporary shop on eBay this September.
BFC chief executive, Caroline Rush, said: “With invaluable support from eBay, these designers mark a new wave in British contemporary design, the rise of which we aim to fuel with this new initiative.”
The inaugural designers were invited to apply by the BFC and eBay, however in 2015 official applications will be open to all designers looking for BFC Contemporary support.
