BHS liquidator seeks business rates refund

The liquidator of BHS is reportedly seeking to recover part of the business rates bill the retailer incurred before its final stores closed.

FRP Advisory has hired an agent – thought to be Hilco Profit Recovery – to “review the business rates paid by the company and to ascertain whether there are refunds available”, Sky News has reported.

Sources told the media organisation that the annual business rates bill for BHS, which had 164 stores at the time of its collapse into administration last April, ran to several million pounds.
