BHS seeks younger consumer with new collection

BHS is hoping to attract a younger audience with the launch of a new fashion collection aimed at women in their 40s and 50s.

The department store chain, owned by Sir Philip Green, is planning to unveil the new collection this week, with easy-to-wear lines. Key items include biker jackets and suede leggings.

Green told The Sunday Times: “We are going to provide aspirational clothing that’s good quality and good value. The expression I use in the office is I want to sell steak cheap but not cheap steak – there is a difference.”
