All remaining BHS shops are set to close down in the next four weeks, the chain’s administrators have confirmed today.
Philip Duffy and Benjamin Wiles, joint administrators of BHS, informed employees that the remaining stores will commence closure sales from today.
”It is anticipated that failing any last minute rescue attempt the last stores will cease trading by Saturday August 20,” they said. ”There are no specific dates for the closure of stores yet.”
BHS had 164 stores when it collapsed into administration in April. A number have closed in the past few weeks.
As previously reported by Drapers, it is understood some property deals for BHS leases felll through as a result of the UK’s vote to leave the European Union.
