Bid date nears at Moss Bros

April 25 marks a key date in the future of menswear retailer Moss Bros, with Baugur expected to complete due diligence and step forward with a full offer for the chain soon afterwards.
Sources said Baugur had indicated it would leave the “data room” on April 25, following weeks of speculation about potential rival bidders.

This week, a mystery shareholder with an 8.3% interest was revealed to be property developer Paul Singh, dampening hopes of a rival bid. Womens-wear business Laura Ashley holds more than 6% of shares, but its intentions are unclear.
