The British Independent Retailers Association has revealed the next leg of its Retail Study Tour, which offers discussion sessions and networking events to small businesses, will take place across Ireland from October 11-16, 2015.
Following on from similar projects in Scotland and the US this year, the tour will begin in Northern Ireland and move down through Dublin and to Cork.
A statement from the organisation said those who attend the study tour will be “immersed in the world of retailing, with inventive and exciting retailers as well as top Irish attractions”.
It continued: “These valuable insights will give delegates a fresh look at retail, ideas for their own business and unforgettable memories of Ireland’s rolling green hills and bustling cities.”
Bira chief executive Alan Hawkins told Drapers the decision to take the tour to Ireland was based on a desire to showcase “inspirational shops” to its members and provide new ideas unseen in Great Britain.
He also added that the location for the 2016 tour is already being considered and could take place in Chicago or the Far or Middle East.
Bira is currently allowing business owners to register interest in the Irish tour online at bira.co.uk/irishtour.
